Why You Should Get a Polygraph with Stan Fulmer

Why You Should Get a Polygraph with

Stan Fulmer

I wanted to clear the air about gossip heard about me around town. So I chose to go and get a polygraph exam done.

I came across Stan Fulmer's website and gave him a call. It was either him, or two very aggressive new comers to the field that were already pressing me for information before I had gotten there. (Yikes!)

Mr. Fulmer explained that he had written tests for corporations in the United States over his 35 year career. Most recently, He has done exams for the Charleston Police Department, Folly Beach Police, among other law enforcement agencies, in North Carolina.

Because law enforcement has uses him to this day to catch criminals, and he was active in 18 states at one point (Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, etc.), I feel safe I did the right thing taking the test with him.

Update:

Oh, and get this, this guy has been used not only to get the bad guys by law enforcement, but has been used to test OTHER POLYGRAPH EXAMINERS for their in-house  polygraph examiner positions in the police department.

That tells me there's trust there, and a steady track record.

He graduated from the University of South Carolina, with a degree and in psychology in 1976.

He graduated from the Mumford Polygraph Institute and trained students at the Academy of Polygraph Science and Methodology.

It Gets Even More Impressive

Mr. Fulmer worked closely with the first director of the United States Department of Defense Polygraph Institute (DODPI) William Yankee. He worked on the development of the equipment used in polygraph exams. Think about that. The EQUIPMENT used today is based off these guys prototypes. I was a toddler when this guy got started. 😁

20,000 exams? Well...yes.

The website states his agency has administered over 20,000. I asked him about this. For one, he has been doing this since the 70s. Second, every test he designs for a corporation is taken by job applicants is a test he is credited as administering.

Think doctors when they tell you you have to wait to retake a blood test because a "false positive" came back. I wonder why they don't just say negative? But I don't think to hard on it.

Why?

Because I am not a doctor.

I this veteran of the field says that is a test, it is a test. So those, coupled with his in person administered exams over 40 years, plus work in 18 states will give you 20,000 exams.

Things I didn't like

1)Totally cheesy website. But again, the guy isn't a web designer and is very focused on doing one thing well.

Update: I am happy to update you that he changed his website, and it looks great!!!!

2)The belt is so tight around the chest, but it has to be that way.

3)The test can be long, but he is thorough. You will have to take it twice as part of his verification process.

4)Nerve racking. Even if you are telling the truth, you will probably sweat a little.

 Things I liked

1)He is old school.

Because he has been at this over 30 years, he is far more seasoned than a newbie with a laptop that is easily hacked. He is going to know what to look for on the read and the situation to interpret any anomalies.

2) HE HAS A PROVEN RECORD WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT. If he is good enough for

law enforcement in 15 states over the last 35 years, he is good enough for me.

3) He is a graduate of USC and the Mumford Polygraph Institute, where he was also a trainer. He helped build techniques to catch people in a lie.

4) HE TRAVELS TO YOU to take the test. This is great if you need to get something verified.

5) Cost effective. Though it is pricey for some, it is not outside of the normal price range for polygraph examiners in my area.

The test can be long, but he is thorough. You will have to take it twice as part of his verification process. (Yes this is here twice on purpose!)

6) His agency is licensed, accredited, and fully bonded.
