Liberty Mutual and the Sinner/Saint Terry Tyner

Liberty Mutual & the Sinner/Saint Terry Tyner

Ok, usually, I take most things in stride. This, unfortunately, was just not one of those things I could do this with.

Why is this company and this man my sworn enemies?

Two Reasons:
1) Every day I had to haggle with them, my baby was slipping away into death.
2) I am in a situation where there is Klan in the area, and I needed my car to move from here.

Knowledge is Power.
I went to the #FBI's website www.fbi.gov to find out about insurance fraud.
They encourage visitors to go to www.naic.org (The National Association of Insurance Commissioners) as a source for info on it.

The website updated 3/19/2018 states:

"Insurance fraud occurs when an insurance company, agent, adjuster or consumer commits a deliberate deception in order to obtain an illegitimate gain. It can occur during the process of buying, using, selling or underwriting insurance.

Insurance fraud may fall into different categories from individuals committing fraud against consumers to individuals committing fraud against insurance companies."

                                                                                                                                      -3/19/2018

Okay, so now we have a framework of what insurance fraud is. (Hope I am not ticking you off spelling it out like this.) But, you would be surprised at the number of people here in Charleston, SC and the surrounding areas I described this to didn't understand that this was fraud. (including a sheriff's deputy and a government employee of a state insurance organization.)

The Basics of What Happened
#Terry Tyner was the most subtle and deceptive person I have ever encountered. He described the sales pitch for #Better Car Replacement. When I spoke up about something that the customer service representative who is trained to sell the product, he snapped at me for interrupting him. I thought that Liberty Mutual was the only company that offered such, so I stayed with it. I did NOT know I had a choice to take the car to another repair shop. I was given the impression that this was their designated repair shop to go to.

Then when I got in an #auto wreck, Liberty Mutual sent me
to their designated repair shop that they used. When the estimate to repair was higher than the car's value, I asked if they could do it cheaper at the shop, where he said it wasn't.

When I spoke up about something that the customer service representative who is trained to sell the product, Terry Tyner snapped at me for interrupting him. I thought that Liberty Mutual was the only company that offered such, so I stayed with them.

The point is this; I asked for my car back at the stage before the first adjuster sent my claim on to the total loss adjuster department. She at first said this could be repaired with the deductible, then coaxed into thinking a total loss would help me, and that moving on to a new car was best.

So seconds later, in the same phone call, I changed my mind and I said no I need to get back to work. She responded that she had already gotten started on the process and she couldn't stop it.

Since I was an Uber driver, they blocked me from my livelihood by playing games with the settlement amount and check being issued to me. They low-balled the value of the car so the damages would reach the totaled stage of 70% to keep the SUV instead of using the next car up in value at the price in my market as promised. (See photos below of both private buyer and certified pre-owned dealer where I bought this estimate.)

However, it started to feel like a really bad relationship when he yelled at me the second time. He was aware my father had passed away a few days before, was aware that the car was needed back for me to work, and was still rude when we spoke about the value of the car not being calculated the way he said it would be.

I don't know who he was taking directives from (internal theft ring?, local fraud ring?).

But his mission was clear:
He is to get all he can get from the customer, without letting any value go back out to the customer.

But I am not alone in suffering this.

A Snapshot if Insurance fraud nationwide
According to the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud, (www.insurancefraud.org) the United States loses $80 Billion a year (estimate). $34 Billion of it is the type of fraud I was victim to, which is what's even more surprising is that 84% of the insurance industry's companies state that their investigations of fraud involve more than one industry.
So what makes it a class of its own? The cruelty of when these events happen before they take your possessions for a number of these cases is staggering and upsetting.

Taiasha's Story
Another case that was similar included a woman named Taiasha in Kansas City, MO. They didn't even give her the courtesy of pretending they were going to give the check to another party (finance company, etc.). They just took the car and the money and said "See ya." This woman was just coming from a car accident on her birthday when this company pulled this.
By the way, I apologize for my comment earlier if you read a post online in which I hinted that Mr. Tyner might be a White Nationalist. Apparently, just straight up criminal will do.
Gary's Story

There was a case similar to mine in which a man named Gary of Rose Bud, AR was told to go to Liberty Mutual's "approved" repair shop. The cost for his truck to be repaired was tripled after the original estimate was given. They then had him sign a statement indicating that the shop had completed the work when it wasn't.

Conversion. What is it?
I did some research on a federal law website and discovered the concept of conversion. It is when someone (or an entity) holds on to a piece of property longer than they are supposed to that belongs to another for gain.

The remedy has been in some cases to give back the property at the value of when it was converted, as well as paying for the  loss of use/or enjoyment during the time frame that they had the property.

It is clear to me that this is what occurred. So how and why do insurance companies in Charleston, SC and around the US continually commit this federal crime?

My advice:
So, a few things to do, if you go through this. If you live in Charleston, SC or Myrtle Beach,
stay Away from Terry Tyner and #Liberty Mutual (including nationwide offices). FYI. He also works out of his #Myrtle Beach office, so you might want to make people you know in the Myrtle Beach, SC area aware of him and Liberty mutual.

There are other #companies in #Charleston and agents that do not tolerate disrespect from their agents to their customers. Check his Google review page about his rudeness. (Don't be surprised if they stuff his review board on Google to get his numbers back up.)

As for the rest of the country, we can do things collectively to make things better:

1) Contact your local state representative AND your congressmen about this matter. It is clear insurance companies are operating out of the comfort the financial industry has been afforded by the US government. If we start here (Especially in this new fired up Congress), it will most likely get things going.

2) Keep a record of everything. This means phone calls, receipts, notes, and record them if you can(check with a lawyer on recording though.) If you can get a snap shot or record on your phone the individual who you spoke to, all the better.

3) Find an attorney. It is incredibly difficult to get the current legal justice system to acknowledge the 1st amendment right to petition the government, specifically as a pro se litigant. It also is an arena full of pitfalls and dangers that can end up costing you  more money than you know.(Thanks Dad.)

Most states have a website that will give you a referral of licensed attorney's in your state. Start there. Friend referrals are okay, but you don't want relationship problems later if they don't succeed, so, the first method is preferred.
